Web Space

Angelfire is part of the Lycos network, and also offers free webspace for its users. As you know, I built my first site on Tripod. I advised my sister to also use Tripod, however she opted for Angelfire. As I ended up maintaining her site quite a lot, I was surprised how easy everything was to use. Interface wise, its a lot easier to navigate around Angelfire, than Tripod. Everything is much simpler. Angelfires tutorials arent as good as Tripods, however they still contain an adequate amount of info, that will probably see you through ok. Angelfire offer you 50mb of webspace which is pretty generous, and the domain names are similar to 'www.angelfire.com/me3/yoursitehere/'. I personally prefer Tripod because of its tutorials, however Angelfire is still a great service and well worth checking out.. |

Another free webspace provider is 75megs.com. Unlike a lot of the free services, 75Megs are extremely generous with the amount of webspace they give you to play with. Yep, you guessed it, with this site you can get 75 megs of web space! Also on offer is FTP access, form mail, a message board, subdomains, web tools, easy editing access, and much more. Also to help ease the pressure of being a webmaster (no..really) they have search engine submission tools, web master tools, email facilities and more! Overall, a feature rich service, and pretty efficient. The only major pain is that its advert supported, but then again most popular services are these days.. |

Ok, we've had 75Megs, 50Megs, and next in the ladder is 20Megs. On offer, is..you guessed it..20Megs of webspace. What you probably didnt guess though, is this site offers unlimited bandwidth, 24x7 Technical Support, free guestbooks and messageboards, file manager utility, and prebuilt templates. Also coming soon is the facility to upload and update your website via FTP which is always a handy feature. Overall a nice service, have a look at the 20Megs site for more details.. |
